Introduction
The story ..... so far
What I am attempting here is to create a blog based around our past and future travels.
Travel has been a major feature of our married life, so since 1973.
We both took early retirement, me in 2001 at 52 and Pauline in 2002( a bit younger).
Our ultimate aim being, not to leave an inheritance, and to visit as many long distance locations as possible until we are unable to do so for health reasons, or because we've spent all our money and only have the house left.
But, that's another story.
Our first foreign holiday being to the island of Malta, our latest to Canada.
In between we've visited Australia, New Zealand, China, the USA, Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands, Cuba, Jamaica, India, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore
So we still have much of South America, Asia left to do, as well as return visits to Australia/New Zealand and the USA/Canada
In the meantime we will have the occasional trip in Europe to add further to our bucket list, adding to those countries already visited.
Rhodes, Kos, Crete, Sardinia, Madeira, Canary Islands(Lanzarote), Greek Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Turkey, France, Portugal, Spain , Formentera/Ibiza, Holland, Germany, Finland, and of course, Ireland Scotland, Wales and Jersey.
We have planned for next month, our very first sea cruise, for 42 nights heading to the Amazon and West Indies.
A relatively small ship, and so this is likely to be my first "live" blog on what is a completely new experience.
